Can I book my reservations on-line?
Yes. Please use our Online Reservations form to book your reservation online. Simply pick the days for your vacation, check the availability and book it.

What is the pet policy?
Sorry, no pets or animals are permitted on the property. The closest boarding for pets is available at Martin's Point Veterinarian (252-261-2250).
Can the resort comfortably accommodate children?
Yes. Children are welcome. We do not currently provide organized activities for their benefit. We do have a select number of rooms with two queen beds or a king with a pull out sofa to accommodate families, but for a more comfortable stay families with children may wish to reserve one of our three-, four-, or six-bedroom Station Bay Villas adjacent to the Inn. The concierge will be happy to assist with providing child care options through a local licensed and bonded company.
Can the resort accommodate guests with special needs?
We make every effort to accommodate the needs of handicapped individuals; however, our beach location and multiple buildings can prove challenging. Please discuss any special needs with the Reservations Manager when booking your accommodations.
Complimentary Services for Registered Guests
What complimentary services are offered during my stay?
All rates include morning coffee, tea and newspapers in inn lobbies, afternoon tea and cookies, use of the Fitness facilities and indoor & seasonal outdoor swimming pools. Use of the exercise/weight room in the South Inn is restricted to adults 18 years or older. Beach chairs and umbrellas are also complimentary when available in season and based on availability. Tennis, spa treatments and special programs will incur additional charges
What are your Check-in and Check-out times?
Check-in time is after 4:00pm daily as rooms become available. Check-out time is prior to 11:00am.
AAA, AARP and Active Duty Military Discounts
Do you offer AAA, AARP and Active Duty Military discounts at The Sanderling?
Yes, we do offer a AAA, AARP and Active Duty Military discount of up to 10% off room rates, if current rate is not already discounted such as on a package. Discounted Rate is based on availability.
Travel Agent Discounts/Commissions
Do you offer travel agents commissions when they book clients to stay at The Sanderling?
Yes, we pay a 10% commission on rooms only. Travel agents themselves may be offered a discount if they come mid-week, depending on availability. This offer is not available during Peak Season. Click here to be added to The Sanderling Travel Agents distribution list for special offers.
Lifesaving Station Reservations & Attire
Are reservations needed in order to dine in The Lifesaving Station and what is the attire?
Reservations are requested for dinner and should be made prior to your arrival to ensure the dates and times you prefer.
Resort casual attire is requested. We request no jeans for dinner.
Left Bank Reservations & Attire
Are reservations needed in order to dine in The Left Bank and what is the attire?
Reservations are recommended in order to dine in The Left Bank to ensure the dates and times you prefer.
Yes. Gentlemen - attire is collard shirt, slacks and covered shoes. Young adults are welcome with parents
What are your policies regarding use of your Fitness Center?
The Fitness Room located in the South Inn is reserved exclusively for our in-house guests. Our larger fitness center located at the Pine Island Racquet and Fitness Center is complimentary to The Sanderling guests and a fee applies to those not staying as our guest. They can be reached at 252-453-8525 for additional information or to inquire about tennis opportunities. Both facilities are reserved for 18 years or older.
Our seasonal, resort concierge is on duty to assist our guests with making dining and activity reservations. They will be happy to share information about our many local attractions and historic sites. Please contact our resort concierge at Ext. 313.Do you provide transportation to the resort?
If you have transportation needs, please contact our Resort Concierge at 877.650.4923 Ext. 313, and they will be glad to give you information on area transportation services and other options that may be available.
Fax and copier services are available to guests at the Front Desk for a nominal per page fee.
48-hour laundry service is available for items turned in to Housekeeping before 10:00 am. Laundry bags and a schedule can be found hanging on the laundry hook in your closet. Dry cleaning service is available off-property and usually requires two to four days for completion.
The main access doors to each of the Inns are usually locked at 10:00 pm for the safety of our guests. Your room key can be used to reenter your Inn's lobby through the front door after hours.
Calls made locally are free of charge. All long distance calls will incur an access fee that will be billed to your room account.
There are no video, DVD or Pay-Per-View rentals currently available, however a select number of DVD players are available to be signed out at the Front Desk at no charge. All rooms also include a CD/MP3 compatible Clock radio
Newspapers, Magazines and Reading Materials
Daily newspapers are provided in the Grand Gallery of the Main Inn and in the lobby reading rooms of the North and South Inns. You will also find a variety of magazines and popular books in each location. Please return borrowed items to these public areas for the enjoyment of other guests.
Does The Sanderling provide computers for guest use?
The Sanderling has one computer available for guest use located in the Main Inn lobby. High-speed and wireless Internet access are available through out the resort's lobbies, guest rooms and vacation homes.
Do you have lifeguards on your beach?
We do not have lifeguards on our beach, so for your own safety, please observe the red flags when posted, which means stay out of the water. If flags are not posted, please use caution when entering the water at all times.
Can I order something special for a friend or family member and have it delivered to their room?

What's the non-smoking policy?
A $250 recovery fee will be charged for smoking in your room! Effective January 2010, North Carolina does not allow smoking in restaurant facilities.
