Throughout this intimate three-day experience, guests will learn from acclaimed artists Molly Reeder and Claire McCarty, whose workshops celebrate the natural beauty of the coast.

Meet the Artists
In March, The Sanderling Resort will be welcoming artists Molly Reeder and Claire McCarty for an intimate weekend celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, and the natural beauty of the coast. Inspired by the landscapes, textures, and stories of the Outer Banks, each artist brings a distinct perspective and creative practice to the experience.
Throughout the weekend, guests are invited to explore their creative practices through hands-on workshops designed to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and inspire a fresh appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. It’s an opportunity to slow down, make something by hand, and see the coast through an artist’s eye.
Molly Reeder
Known for her evocative botanical, food, and nature-inspired watercolors, Molly Reeder brings a fresh, thoughtful perspective to the art of watercolor. Her paintings celebrate the intricate beauty of edible and plant-based subjects, inviting a deeper appreciation for their natural forms, textures, and inherent vitality.
Rooted in a fascination with the connections between land, plants, ancestry, and the wisdom of the natural world, Molly’s work explores the delicate threads that connect us to our surroundings. In her workshops, she invites participants to slow down and observe, exploring composition, color, and texture as a means of capturing the beauty and spirit of the natural world.
Claire McCarty
Ceramic artist Claire McCarty creates distinctive works that bring together the tactile beauty of handmade pottery and the organic forms of found natural elements. Inspired by the coastal landscape, her practice celebrates the textures, shapes, and quiet details found along the shoreline and the beauty of the ordinary in daily life.
In her workshops, Claire invites guests to look at familiar coastal treasures in a new way, transforming shells, driftwood, and other found objects into one-of-a-kind works of art. Through hands-on exploration and thoughtful craftsmanship, she reveals the creative possibilities hidden within the natural world.
