Get to know the artists behind Artists Weekend. With a shared appreciation for the beauty of the coast and the stories found within it, Molly Reeder and Claire Jensen bring their unique perspectives and creative practices to The Sanderling for a weekend of hands-on inspiration.
Molly Reeder
Molly Reeder is an artist specializing in botanical, plant & food story. She paints large scale detailed watercolors of edible & plant-based subjects, highlighting their unique beauty and innate healing.
She is particularly inspired by the weaving threads within land and plant ancestry, and the wisdom of the natural world. Molly seeks meaningful collaborations through the lens of her artwork, where her paintings and illustrations help to support and showcase community & human rights organizations, and especially environmental/climate activism efforts.

Claire Jensen
Claire Jensen is an artist, maker, and educator based in Richmond, Virginia, whose work is rooted in a deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of organic forms.
Her work explores the tangible possibilities of clay and the ways handmade objects can add beauty and meaning to everyday moments. During Artists Weekend, Claire will invite guests to draw inspiration from the Outer Banks coastline, transforming found coastal treasures into one-of-a-kind ceramic works to take home.
